Sen Van Hollen admits he used public funds to drink margaritas with MS13 gang members in El Salvador
Senator Van Hollen admits using public funds for El Salvador visit involving MS-13 gang members
In a startling interview that has shocked many American taxpayers, Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen publicly confirmed that he used public funds to finance an official trip to El Salvador during which he had direct contact with members of the notorious MS-13 gang. Although he attempted to downplay the seriousness of his actions by claiming the trip was “officially authorized,” he failed to dispel the serious doubts about the real purpose of his presence in Central America.
When asked directly who paid for the trip, Van Hollen bluntly stated: “This was officially authorized. You know, a Congressional trip needs certain authorization.” And when pressed on whether taxpayers had funded the travel, he replied, “Yes, like any other trip.” His cold, matter-of-fact tone reveals the total disconnect between Washington’s political elite and the hardworking American people who fund their ventures.
What’s most alarming is not just the use of taxpayer dollars for an overseas trip, but the nature of the activities and company the senator chose to engage with. MS-13 is not a minor local gang; it is an international criminal organization known for its brutality, murders, drug trafficking, extortion, and child recruitment. What exactly was Senator Van Hollen hoping to accomplish by meeting with these individuals? What message is the Democratic Party sending by tolerating such associations?
Conservatives can no longer stand idly by as members of Congress use national resources to legitimize or sanitize the image of violent organizations that have terrorized both Central America and U.S. neighborhoods. These are not isolated incidents but part of a dangerous progressive agenda that seeks to reframe public perception of crime, illegal immigration, and national security.
Van Hollen’s trip should set off every alarm. It is unacceptable for a United States senator to justify connections with a criminal gang under the guise of diplomacy or “field observation.” This episode underscores the lack of accountability and transparency that plagues much of the current political establishment.
Meanwhile, countless citizens continue to suffer the direct consequences of organized crime: broken communities, rising violence, drug trafficking, and the loss of innocent lives. All while their supposed representatives in Washington cozy up to those responsible for that destruction.
The American people deserve answers. More importantly, they deserve leaders with firm principles who won’t use their office to promote failed ideologies or fund goodwill tours involving actors hostile to peace and justice. This case must be thoroughly investigated, and Van Hollen must be held accountable.
