Robert Dinel Arrest Video

Robert Dinel is a Heavy Equipment Operator from Quebec, and he particated in the Freedom Convoy in 2022, protesting the unjust and draconian measures implemented by the Trudeau government and other provincial governments.

He stayed for the duration of the Convoy as he was impressed with the peaceful and friendly atmosphere, and the community of people who were standing against the unfair mandates put in place by our government.

During the "clean-up" operation where combined police forces brutally ended the rally, Robert says he was arrested at gunpoint and charged, along with many others.

He was criminally charged with multiple charges, including mischief charges, disobeying a court order, and obstructing a police officer.

I asked Robert what he was doing when he was arrested. Was he violently opposing the police, or aggressively demonstrating? On the contrary, he says he was sitting in his truck with a friend, and as the police came down the line of trucks, they saw others being arrested, including Guy Meister. Then they arrested him and his friend at gunpoint.

They took him to a processing area, and he began to have some significant blood pressure issues that have been with him ever since. His blood pressure was surging, and they checked it over three times. One time it was as high as 190 (exceptionally high). He says they kept promising him access to a lawyer, if he would sign release documents which included onerous conditions (confirm). He says they even pressured him to sign the release while he was getting his blood pressure checked, and while it was skyrocketing. He says they promised if he signed he would get access to a lawyer. He initially refused to sign as he felt he wasn't guilty and hadn't done anything wrong. He never got access to a lawyer, even though he asked 10 times, and due to fear of his health circumstances, and their extremely high pressure coercive tactics, he eventually succumbed to signing conditions of release. He says he attempted to add "under duress" after his signature, but they grabbed the pen from him before he could complete it. He was then released out of town in the freezing cold weather without a phone (confirm with Robert). 

Like Guy Meister, Robert tells me he has had nearly 20 court appearances. The way that he was treated under arrest, and the ongoing appearances in court are harming Robert's health. His blood pressure is high, and he has had several mild strokes, one of which occurred during a court appearance, that then had to be postponed. He now has a service dog that attends court with him which is trained to help with his blood pressure. He says "everyday I go to court, it's very stressful, and blood pressure is through the roof. I'm still hanging in there. I have six grandkids and 3 kids. If you don't fight for freedom, it's like a muscle, if you don't exercise it, you'll lose it."
