(What the Resurrection of Jesus Should Mean to Us)
Text: 1 Corinthians 15

Objective: that the brethren give the glory always to God, live in righteousness and holiness, understanding the word of God

Intro:
Define – Now, Christ, rise/n, resurrection, meaning, significance
- Romans 8:34 –central truth of the faith

What the Resurrection of Jesus Should Mean to Us:
1. We Should Understand its importance/significance
a. v.1 – ‘wherein ye stand’ – fundamental/foundational
b. climax of the gospel – death, burial and resurrection
c. v.2 – ‘by which are ye saved’
d. v.2 – ‘if ye keep in memory’ – important to remember
e. important to keep it passing to the next generation
i. v.1-preached to you,
ii. v.3 – ‘I have received’, v.11
2. Fulfillment of Scriptures – vv.3-4
3. Proved and provable/credible – vv. 5-7 – eye witnesses
4. Reason for us to work and Serve – v. 10 – ‘laboured more abundantly
a. V.58 - finale
5. Truth to be Defended from the enemies
a. – vv.12-20 – legitimacy is challenged
b. V.33 – beware of corrupters
6. Source of Joy – vv-17-19 – “if” – reverse is true
7. Grounds for the Salvation of our souls – v.22
a. How grand and victorious is that! – spiritual body – vv. 35-55

Message/conclusion:
Let us understand the word of God, the significance of the Lord’s resurrection, and therefore give the glory always to God and live in righteousness and holiness.
