DNI Tulsi Gabbard Releases RFK Assassination Files.

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard announced Friday the release of the assassination files of former Sen. Robert F. Kennedy (RFK).

“Nearly 60 years after the tragic assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, the American people will, for the first time, have the opportunity to review the federal government’s investigation thanks to the leadership of President Trump,” Gabbard stated in a press release.

Over 10,000 pages of previously classified documents were uploaded to the National Archives on Friday morning.

“In the course of searching FBI and CIA warehouses for records not previously turned over to The National Archives, an additional 50,000 pages of RFK assassination files were discovered,” the press released added.

RFK was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian refugee, Reuters reported.

The former senator was shot soon after he won the 1968 California Democratic presidential primary, and he died the following day, the outlet said.

“Lifting the veil on the RFK papers is a necessary step toward restoring trust in American government,” Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary and RFK’s son, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., stated in the press release. “I commend President Trump for his courage and his commitment to transparency. I’m grateful also to Tulsi Gabbard for her dogged efforts to root out and declassify these documents.”

The documents came in the wake of the release of former President John F. Kennedy’s (JFK) assassination records. Almost 80,000 pages were published by the National Archives in March.

The assassination files of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are also expected to be released soon, according to Gabbard.

“I’ve had over 100 people working around the clock to scan the paper around … [Sen. RFK’s] assassination as well as [MLK’s] assassination,” Gabbard told Trump during a cabinet meeting. “These have been sitting in boxes in storage for decades. They have never been scanned or seen before. We’ll have those ready to release in the next few days.” (RELATED: JFK Files Reveal New Depths Of CIA Incompetence)

During the meeting, Trump asked RFK Jr. how he felt about the release.

“I’m very grateful to you Mr. President,” RFK Jr. replied.

The publication is in accordance with Trump’s January executive order directing the DNI and attorney general to present him with a plan to release the JFK, RFK and MLK files.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has yet to fully release the Jeffrey Epstein files as of Friday morning.
