Alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported by the Trump administration to El Salvador’s notorious megaprison, was previously accused of physically abusing his wife, who has been fiercely advocating for his release.

Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, applied for a protective order against her husband in 2021, saying he punched, scratched and grabbed her — with some of the alleged abuse so severe, she was left with bruises and bleeding, according to court documents.

In the petition for the order, Vasquez Sura laid out the horrifying claims of events that allegedly happened in front of their then-infant on May 4, 2021.
