Tugela Falls Hike - 2022

This video is an edited version of one I did for friends on a Tugela falls hike in February 2022. It gives one some idea of what lies in store for prospective hikers on this wonderful falls hike. This hike started in the Sentinel car park and proceeded to zigzag along the front face of the mountain facing the car park until getting to a certain height after which it then simply stays at that height and one proceeds to walk along the path until arriving at 'The Gulley'. The video is shown from 'The Gulley' climb before proceeding along the plateau to the actual falls and then tracing a path alongside the river in reverse until arriving at the Chain ladders.

I have done this hike about 3 or 4 times (roughly from about 2016 to 2022) and the section from between Witsieshoek to the Sentinel car park had become worse each time! In Feb 2022 it was no longer possible for a non-4x4 vehicle to ascend that section. However, Witsieshoek provides transport to the 'Sentinel' car park. So please, if any of you are considering this hike, then I advise you to check with them.
