Every story has to start somewhere, and this one began in the guest room of Kaer Morhen, where Geralt of Rivia enjoyed a rare moment of peace (and a much-needed bath), only to be swiftly interrupted by none other than Yennefer of Vengerberg. With her usual urgency, she reminded Geralt to begin training Ciri, but all was not as it seemed.

As the courtyard faded and the fortress dissolved, Geralt awoke from the dream to a war-ravaged land, the Wild Hunt looming ever closer. His purpose was clear. Yennefer had finally reached out, sending a letter scented with lilac and gooseberries, asking him to meet her in Willoughby regarding a matter of great importance.

But when Geralt arrived, the village had been burned to ash, a casualty of marching armies. No sign of Yennefer remained. Joined by his mentor Vesemir, Geralt picked up her trail—northward, across dangerous terrain and broken battlefields. Time was clearly of the essence.

Their journey led them to the White Orchard inn, where a simple stop quickly escalated into violence. When locals turned hostile, Geralt and Vesemir were forced to abandon neutrality and draw steel on humans a grim reminder that even in a world filled with monsters, it’s often people who are the most dangerous.

With Yennefer’s trail still hot and war burning across the land, Geralt’s true journey is only just beginning...
