A Soyuz spacecraft carrying American Don Pettit, NASA's oldest serving astronaut, and his two Russian crewmates makes a parachute-assisted landing on the Steppe of Kazakhstan. The landing came on Pettit's 70th birthday, after he spent 220 days in space with Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner. During their mission they orbited the Earth 3,520 times and completed a journey of 93.3 million miles.
