Several thousand people marched through central

Several thousand people marched through central London on Saturday to protest a ruling earlier in the week by the UK Supreme Court that a legal definition of a woman was based on biological sex.

It was a landmark decision greeted with concern by trans supporters but welcomed by the government as bringing clarity.

The ruling means trans women cannot use single-sex female toilets, changing rooms or compete in women’s sports, according to the head of Britain’s equalities watchdog.
