Easter is a LIE - The Shocking Truth the Church Never Told You

There's a strong historical link between the name "Easter" and the Germanic Goddess Eostre (or Ostara). While the exact connection is debated, many scholars believe that the English name "Easter" for the Christian festival of the so-called, resurrection of Jesus is derived from Eostre, an Anglo-Saxon Goddess associated with spring and fertility.

The Evidence from Bede

The primary source linking Easter to a pagan goddess comes from the 8th-century English monk Bede, who wrote in De Temporum Ratione (The Reckoning of Time):

"Eosturmonath has a name which is now translated 'Paschal month', and which was once called after a goddess of theirs named Eostre, in whose honor feasts were celebrated in that month. Now they designate that Paschal season by her name, calling the joys of the new rite by the time honored name of the old observance."

Bede claims that the Anglo-Saxon month Ēosturmōnaþ (April) was named after Ēostre, a goddess associated with spring and renewal. However, no other written sources confirm her worship, leading some scholars to question whether Bede was speculating or recording genuine tradition.
