Ukrainian Looking for a Free Ride: When “Asylum” Just Means Avoiding Work

A Ukrainian woman decided to leave China after learning that the country doesn’t provide welfare to young, able-bodied noncitizens — and that work is expected if you want to stay.

Rather than accepting that standard, she’s now on the hunt for a country that will hand her benefits without requiring anything in return.

The fact that some nations still entertain this kind of blatant freeloading is bad enough — but the real shame lies with the people who keep voting for leaders that make it possible.
