Good Friday Devotion: The Cross

Good Friday was a pivotal moment in history regarding the relationship between God and man. The fact that Jesus stepped over the portal of heaven and came to earth to give His life as a ransom for all was a game changer. No more sacrifices of bulls, goats and lambs but now the Lord Jesus took my place and yours upon the most cruel instrument the Roman empire could devise. The truth is made real to us in this passage "to Him who knew no sin He became sin that we might become righteousness of God." Think about it, the torture and agony Jesus endured before being nailed to a cross and then our sin was laid upon Him. The reality of this is overwhelming to the natural mind. But Jesus paid it all. Hallelujah! Today we declare all glory and honor to the Lord Jesus that took our place and that we could have the gift of God which is eternal life.
