Lake County, FL Legislator's Delegation Meeting Dec. 18, 2024

Once or twice a year, the Lake County, FL State Legislators' Delegation meets to hear requests, issues, and complaints from public speakers. This is the Dec. 14, 2024 LegDel meeting.

The four members of the Lake County, FL Legislator Delegation are:
Keith Truenow, Senator
Taylor Yarkosky, FL House Rep Dist 25
Nan Cobb, FL House Rep Dist 26
Richard Gentry, FL House Rep Dist 27 (in Lake, Volusia and Perry Counties)

About 40-50 speakers lined up, including Board members from the School Board, Lake County Board, etc.

If you wish to attend future LegDel meetings to speak, contact one of the LegDel members and ask which member is in charge of the next meeting, call their office, and get on the email notification list.

Normally, unless there is a special topic on the agenda, the LegDel members just listen and do not make any decisions or rarely discuss provided issues, but just listen or occasionally ask questions. I notice most do not take notes either. I do not know if they later review a transcript or staff notes and follow up on the issues.

If you are serious about an issue, I recommend you send them a written white paper with a clear request for action, and also call their office and make an appointment to visit and discuss the issue. Be sure to be polite, but still ask if your request will be acted upon, or what more they need from you, and when a solution might be reached. If you have several supporters with you, or present a petition signed by others, that has more impact.
