The London Weekend Show was a series of programs focusing on youth culture in London in the mid-late 70's which became part of the LMU (or London Minorities Unit in 1980). The presenter was a much younger Janet Street Porter who's had a long career in broadcast journalism.
The London Weekend Show was later to be replaced by Twentieth Century Box produced by Janet Street Porter but presented by Danny Baker who started his career off documenting the grass roots punk magazine, 'Sniffin Glue'.

This documentary was actually produced at the height of the British punk scene 1976, not several decades later by people who didn't even live during that time.
The music of the main influential artists and bands from that era that led to the Punk explosion were The Stranglers, David Bowie, Roxy Music, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Killing Joke and The Clash.
