Two pancakes. One marriage.

The other day, Jeff and I were standing side by side in the kitchen, both flipping pancakes—but from totally different recipes. I was making keto pancakes. He was making the classic whole wheat kind. And as I glanced over at his thick, dense pancakes and then back at my paper-thin ones... I had thoughts. 😅

He probably did too.

But here’s the thing—we didn’t voice them.

We didn’t critique, correct, or compare. And because we kept those little thoughts to ourselves, we completely sidestepped a potential spat over something as silly as pancakes.

Later, we both casually mentioned what we’d do differently next time, but the moment had passed—and it passed without tension.

Lesson? Not every thought deserves a microphone.
Marriage doesn’t require us to narrate every observation or judgment. Sometimes, wisdom is found in restraint.

Not every opinion strengthens the connection. Some just stir the pot.

So before you speak it—ask: Does this help us or just highlight a difference that doesn’t need dissecting?
Love grows best when grace leads. Even in the kitchen. 💛
