Words from 1 John 5:14,15

Easter Tradition at the Ratchet Maker
There are many traditions surrounding the upcoming Easter festival. One of them is the Easter ratcheting in the days leading up to Easter. Rudi Roubinek visited a ratchet maker in Herrnbaumgarten (Mistelbach district) for the "Lower Austria Today" column "Tracked Down." The sound of the ratchets is supposed to replace the church bells, which then fall silent, from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday. In the most common form of ratcheting, children walk through the village at different times, ratcheting, and reciting sayings according to a specific pattern.

"As a boy, I was an altar boy, and we were always driving through puddles or over cobblestones, and some parts would always break. Then I swore to myself that when I grew up, I would build ratchets like that to pass on to future generations," says ratchet maker Ernst Ribisch in a conversation with Rudi Roubinek. He estimates he has already built around a thousand ratchets. Broadcast "Lower Austria today", 17 April 2025, Austrian public broadcaster number three

🇬🇧 Bernadette de Lourdes - Why me? (Eyma)

66,551 views September 20, 2018 #bernadettedelourdes

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lyrics:

I was born in the mud
with my feet on the ground
I had nothing to give
and no words in my mouth
I was born in the mud
And that's where I belong

So why me?
Could I speak for you?

Why me?
I'm not worthy,
I'm here and only for you

I was born in the mud
to find what you gave
Your clear holy water
wash away
all the suffering from the world
all the tears from my face

So why me?
Could I speak for you?
Why me?
I'm not worth it.
I'm here and only for you.

Surely there must be someone else.
Surely there's someone better.
I feel the weight of all my sins.
But all that I am, I give to you.

So why me?
Could I speak for you?
Why I
I'm not worth it,
I'm here and only for you

Song from the Bible, Psalm 50:15: "Call upon me in the day of trouble."
Words from the King James Bible, Psalm 50:15: "...call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall praise me."

With Hannah Lausevic on guitar, children from Guildford SDARM Church, and "Sacred for Kids"

Psalm 50
New King James Version
God, the Righteous Judge
A Psalm of Asaph.
50 The mighty Lord God
has spoken, and called the earth.
From the rising of the sun even to its going down.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God will shine.
3 Our God will come and not be silent;
A fire will devour before him,
and it will be very stormy around him.

4 He calls from heaven to heaven and earth to judge his people:
5 "Gather my saints around me, who have made a covenant with me through sacrifice."
6 "Let the heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself judges." (Selah.)

7 "Hear, my people! I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God!
8 I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices or for your burnt offerings, which are continually before me.
9 I will not take a bull from your house or a goat from your pens.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and all the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know all the birds of the mountains, and all the wild animals of the field are mine.

12 "If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the earth and all its fullness are mine.
13 Should I eat bull's flesh or drink goat's blood?
14 Give thanks to God and fulfill your vows to the Most High.

15 Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

16 But to the wicked God says:
"What right have you to proclaim my commandments or to take my covenant on your lips, when you hate law and cast my words behind your back?
18 When you saw a thief, you went with him and became partners with adults.
19 You speak evil, and your tongue forges lies.
20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
21 You did these things, and I remained silent. You thought I was just like you;
But I will rebuke you and show you everything.

22 "Now consider this, you who forget God:
If I tear you to pieces,
and there is no one to deliver,
23 whoever praises me glorifies me;
and whoever sets his feet right,
I will show the salvation of God."
