Our Newborn’s Precious Beginnings: Two Days in Special Care Nursery ||

Two years ago, our beautiful son spent just two days in the special care nursery, and today he’s a thriving two-year-old!

Born to a mom with gestational diabetes, his blood sugar dropped to a critical 0.6 mmol/L after birth, and he battled hypothermia. In this heartfelt video, he lies in a humidicrib, a glucose drip in his tiny arm, surrounded by heart and oxygen monitors. His frog-like legs are curled, his head still coated with vernix and a touch of dried blood, a band aid marks his foot from blood sugar tests, and his name band rests on his ankle. He’s so vulnerable yet so strong—a memory we cherish. Join us in celebrating his journey.
