Produced by RKO Radio Pictures, a horror-mystery film set on a small Greek island used as a cemetery during the 1912 Balkan War. Boris Karloff plays a General,in charge of a group of people in isolation, during an outbreak of plague. To add to his problems, rumours that one of the group is a "vorvolaka"—a Greek vampire-like creature As more people die, fear and paranoia sets in with those that remain.
