They seem to believe complying is optional and they can do it at their leisure. One man found out that wasn't the case today. —— ICE agents smash through a car window to arrest a Guatemalan man in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The agents arrested 29-year-old Juan Francisco Méndez as his wife filmed the encounter. The couple refused to open the door and said they were going to wait for their lawyer, Ondine Galvez Sniffin, to arrive. Méndez's wife claims her husband has no criminal history and claims the agents were confused and arrested the wrong man. Mendez is currently being held at a facility in New Hampshire, according to local news reports. —— Regular people do not have a lawyer on speed dial. There is a reason they know a lawyer to call immediately. The reason is her husband is most likely here illegally. That is enough for an ICE arrest.

Even if you are the wrong person, open up your car door and speak to agents. Maybe even get arrested. The very wrong option is to sit in your car and refuse to open the door. Even American citizens can't refuse to comply with authorities. They don't need a warrant to break a car window if someone isn't compliant/cooperating with LE. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Illegal aliens should be deported as soon as we catch them. Helping illegal aliens is a crime. I understand their lawyer councled then to resist. Should the lawyer be disbarred? If lawyers are giving advice to resist, they should lose their law license. That is putting the life of law enforcement in danger. Some people profoundly pretend they don't understand "being in this country illegally."

Locks the doors and decides he’s gonna wait for his lawyer like she’s teleporting in from a Marvel movie. Ondine Galvez Sniffin must love clients who think stalling is a legal strategy. Juans wife is filming the whole thing probably dreaming of TikTok fame while yelling that her husband’s a saint with no criminal record. Oh sure and I bet Juan’s just a poet who got lost on his way to a knitting circle. She’s screaming they got the wrong guy but maybe Juan’s face just says deport me in neon lights. So ICE smashes the car window like they’re auditioning for a demolition derby and drags Juan out while he’s probably still mumbling about his rights. His wife’s phone is catching every second of this low budget drama probably until the battery gives up.

Now Juan’s parked in a New Hampshire detention center wondering why his sit tight plan didn’t come with a better ending. The Dems would probably throw a gala to defend Juan’s right to turn his car into a fortress while CNN sobs over the broken glass and ignores why he thought he could outsmart feds with a sedan and a prayer. Juan you’re not a hero you’re a walking cautionary tale. Locking yourself in a car like it’s Fort Knox? That’s not a flex it’s a fever dream. Next time maybe open the window and skip the part where you make a traffic stop look like a rejected Michael Bay script. Enjoy your New Hampshire vacation buddy.
