"Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant "Kupol" developed additional protection for combat vehicles of the "Tor" family.

The device includes comprehensive protection of the combat vehicle from various types of weapons. The armor steel panels are installed on the bonnets fixed to the chassis body. On the aluminum covers of the body, lightweight panels made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene are installed on threaded studs with bonnets installed in the standard holes of the body covers.
To increase the protection of the combat vehicle, all armor plates and panels made of polyethylene are installed with a gap from the main body using chocks of various lengths. This installation method reduces the impact of debris on the combat vehicle.
To protect the antenna, they used fabric of the "Egida" ("Эгида") type, which protects against submunitions and shrapnel.
The fabric contains a multilayer package of a flexible protective structure based on high-strength ballistic aramid fabric and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, providing extra protection.
The anti-drone net is designed to protect the launcher shaft of the product from charges dropped by controlled drones. The anti-drone net is made in the form of a supporting frame and two hinged mesh flaps equipped with a locking mechanism. The operating principle consists of the spring properties of the frame's mesh covering, which in the transport (folded) position allows the charge falling under its own weight to be thrown back.
