Canal Reverie 🎶 | Locz's Storie: Part 1 - Drums Over Fire

The barge floated gently on the river, city lights glimmering in the distance. Inside, the glow of string lights reflected off dark wooden walls, wrapping everything in warmth. Vinyls lay scattered near a compact studio setup, speakers hummed low, and a snare drum sat quietly at Locz’s feet—like a friend waiting its turn.

Locz leaned back on his bed, arms tucked in his hoodie, legs crossed with one foot resting on the drum. His glowing teal headphones pulsed softly in rhythm with the music—calm now, but known to shift color when his emotions did. Red for rage. Purple for reflection. Green when he felt alive. A hidden tech detail designed by his closest friend, Blinkz—not that he’d ever admit how dope that was out loud.

Music had always been his peace. His way out. His way through.

He could play almost any instrument in the room, but the drums? The drums were different. They didn’t ask him to explain himself. They just listened.

Most days, he was the chillest in the room. Cool without trying. But when that temper flared… it was like lightning in a bottle—with the cap cracked open. And once it started, it was hard to stop. Sometimes even the music couldn’t reach him in time.

Tonight, though, the storm stayed quiet. For now.

Locz stared out the rounded window into the slow-moving river, feeling the pulse of the track vibrate through his chest. Something was building—not anger, not tension… something new.

He didn’t know what it was yet.

But when it came?

He’d be ready.
