Hermeticism is a body of philosophical beliefs that emerged in Egypt around the beginning of the Common Era. Often attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, Hermeticism resulted from the blending of ancient Egyptian and Greek ideas that took place in Alexandria, which at that time was a global melting pot of peoples.

Over millennia Hermeticism, and its concept of alchemy, have touched many different religious and belief systems, from early Christian Gnosticism, to Jewish Kabballah, to Islamic thought, to eastern philosophy, to Qigong, to esoteric and secret societies, to the European New Age movement.

John Hernandez, a highly accomplished expert in Hermetic thought, will guide us through the story of the development, evolution, and spread of these ancient concepts and beliefs. John will trace their growth from Ancient Egypt to modern day America, illustrating our journey with a collection of fascinating images he has collected over the years.
