What Happens in 1 Samuel 26?
Once again, Saul is in pursuit of David, intent on ending his life. This time, Saul and his army are encamped, vulnerable as they sleep. David, with his trusted companion Abishai, sneaks into Saul’s camp during the night.

Instead of taking the opportunity for revenge, David shows remarkable restraint. He takes Saul's spear and water jug—proof that he could have killed him but chose mercy instead. David’s actions highlight his trust in God’s timing and leadership over his own desire for vengeance.

David’s mercy stands in stark contrast to Saul’s relentless pursuit, demonstrating the power of choosing grace over anger.
