City leaders discuss old business of removing the Confederate Memorial Statue from Phoenix Park in downtown Waycross. The claim by the city, after being there since 1910 and having the city maintain it, receive advertising benefit from it, and working with both the SCV and UDC on its maintenance and upkeep, that it is private property on a public lot, in order to circumvent Georgia law, is disingenuous at best.
