Lady Howard's Coach and Black Hound

In the mist-laden depths of Dartmoor, where the wind weaves secrets through the gnarled tors and the night carries echoes of the past, the legend of Lady Howard endures—a tale of sin and sorrow, bound to the land like an unbroken curse. Each midnight, beneath a moonless sky, her spectral coach glides from the ruins of Fitzford House, drawn by headless horses and led by a black hound with a single burning eye. From Tavistock to Okehampton Castle, the procession moves in silence, retracing a path worn thin by centuries of penance. The hound, its duty as eternal as her torment, plucks a single blade of grass from the ancient mound at Okehampton, offering it as tribute before beginning the long journey home. But the task is endless, the mound inexhaustible, and so Lady Howard rides on, a ghostly wraith caught between legend and damnation, her road stretching into eternity.
