Fixing Spencer Highway: Can This Corridor Be Saved?

David with Think and Act Locally attended the Spencer Highway Corridor Study Community Meeting at Heritage Elementary to see what’s being done to improve one of the region’s busiest — and most dangerous — stretches of road. This 13.7-mile corridor is overdue for a redesign, and the community is finally being invited to the table to talk safety, walkability, transit access, and real solutions for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and more.

Why now? Because Spencer Highway is a prime example of what Strong Towns calls a "stroad" — a street/road hybrid that doesn’t serve anyone well. Public feedback is being gathered to shape the redesign, apply for funding, and move toward construction.
