"And what, monks, is the noble truth of the cessation of suffering? It is the fading away and cessation of craving, the giving up and relinquishing of it, freedom and non reliance on it."
-The Buddha.

Lama Dawa Zangpo’s Commentary:
The Buddha's talking here about the end of suffering. He says it is the same as the cessation of craving. So right away we can see the Buddha is reminding us that it is our craving, our dissatisfaction and grasping for things to be other than they are this desire for things that actually causes our suffering, but we're not stuck. We can let go of our need for things and find contentment. This is where freedom comes from. This is a very important reminder from the Buddha.
