Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the ONLY ONE who can save us! Why is this so important? Why is the crucifixion so important for all mankind?

1. Atonement for Sin
The primary reason Christians believe Jesus was crucified is to atone for the sins of humanity.

"Substitutionary atonement": Jesus took upon himself the punishment that humanity deserved for sin.

Through his suffering and death, he paid the price to restore the broken relationship between God and humans.

Bible reference: “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities...” — Isaiah 53:5

2. Fulfillment of Prophecy
Jesus' death fulfilled numerous Old Testament prophecies about a suffering servant or Messiah who would redeem people.

Christians believe this shows God’s plan for salvation was in motion long before Jesus’ time on Earth.

3. Demonstration of God’s Love
The crucifixion is seen as the ultimate act of love—God giving His Son for the sake of the world.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son...” — John 3:16

4. Victory Over Death and Evil
By dying and then rising again (resurrection), Jesus is believed to have defeated death, sin, and Satan.

The crucifixion wasn’t the end—it was the turning point in the story of redemption.

5. A Call to Discipleship
Jesus told his followers to “take up their cross and follow me.” His crucifixion models self-sacrifice, humility, and obedience to God.
