🇷🇺 🇪🇬 Friendship Bridge 2025 bilateral naval exercise in the Mediterranean Sea

🇷🇺🇪🇬 Friendship Bridge 2025 bilateral naval exercise was held in the Mediterranean Sea from 6 to 10 April. The manoeuvres involved the Navy of the Russian Federation and the Navy of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

🪖 During the coastal phase, Russian seamen and servicemen of the Northern Fleet's Separate Guards Marine Brigade, who members of boarding teams, together with a similar unit of the Egyptian side, conducted small-arms exercises at one of the military training grounds, as well as practised actions of boarding teams on surface ships.

⚓️ In the course of the maritime phase in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the seamen practised elements of defending ships from maritime high-speed means and underwent air defence training. They also repelled mock air attacks simulated by the F-16 aircraft of the Egyptian Air Force.

🎯 When inspecting a ship of interest, Russian and Egyptian naval personnel practised the joint actions of the boarding teams. Artillery live-fire was produced from the ships at a maritime target. The drills involved search-and-rescue operations at sea, communication training, and joint manoeuvring.

🚁 In several episodes of the exercise, a Ka-27 helicopter of the Northern Fleet frigate Admiral Golovko was engaged to touch down on the deck of the Egyptian Navy's frigate Al-Galala.

🤝 The servicemen of both countries showed high professionalism, cohesiveness, and high readiness to carry out joint missions. Source
