Shepard Middle School Should Build New Locker Rooms for Non-Binary Students (April 10th, 2025)

Joe Kopsick urges the Board of Education for Illinois School District 109 to maintain girls' and boys' rooms for biological girls and boys only; while building more private stalls in locker rooms, as well as new restrooms and locker rooms for transgender, non-binary, and intersex individuals.

This video was filmed on April 10th, 2025, at the meeting of the Board of Education for Illinois's School District #109, which governs Alan B. Shepard Middle School.

At Shepard, in February and March 2025, a group of female teachers, coaches, and administrators were accused of forcing (or attempting to force) a class of 13-year-old girls to change clothes in the same room as a trans-identifying child who was born male. Private stalls were made available, but not enough to accommodate all the girls who wanted to change privately due to the trans male's presence.
