Purified Seven Times
(importance of words being pure)
Text: Psalms 12
objective: realize the importance of our speech be aligned to the purity of God's word

intro: purifying of silver video

Words being pure is important:
1. Because the lack thereof will result to
a. decrease of Godliness - v. 1 - godly men
b. increase of wickedness - v. 8 - wicked, vile men
c. methods by which this is accomplished:

spread of nonsense talk - v. 2 - vanity
spread of flatteries - v. 2 - flattering lips
double heart/tongue
pride - v. 3 - "proud things"

-- v. 4 - "with our tongue will we prevail"

"our lips are our own"
even questions the Lord as above them. rom. 1:19-20

2. Because the Lord did and will demonstrate that is indeed important
a. the Lord hates words being perverted as when the poor, needy people are oppressed.

the Lord will protect them.

b. the Lord stressed how pure His Words are

vv 6-7 - "pure words", "tried", "purified seven times"
the Lord will "keep them", "preserve", "for ever"

Message/conclusion:
realize the importance of words being pure
pattern your words to the words of the Lord
