The Trump administration is exempting a number of electronic items, such as smartphones, computers, and processors, from its newly announced reciprocal tariffs for all countries—including China, which is a major supplier and manufacturer for most of these components. The exclusions are expected to benefit tech companies like Apple, whose stock has dropped more than 15 percent since President Donald Trump’s tariff announcement earlier this month.

The United States and Iran held their first round of nuclear talks Saturday in Oman. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Iran’s foreign minister to discuss the country’s nuclear program. The meeting follows Trump’s threat of military action if no agreement is reached. Both sides described the initial talks as constructive and plan to meet again next Saturday.
