Frozen bait vs Fresh bait fishing for blue cats on the Potomac River

Coop and I finally get back on the water and fish our first day of the monthly tournament. Since we are low on bait, we decided to go fresh vs frozen.
I went out earlier in the day and caught a bunch of blue gills and Coop was using frozen shad.
Shad got off to an early start but could not keep up with the freshness of the bluegill.
We ended up catching 11 in a couple hours. No real monsters but it was a great night back on the water.
