Goodbye Sleepy Hollow Goodbye. Whimsical Fairyland Lost (w/The Retromantic).
This is the former location of Sleepy Hollow Enterprises near Blairsville, Georgia which was a whimsical fairy garden of make-believe. It was created as a small roadside attraction in 2005 by former Disney Imagineer and Artisan Arthur Millican, Jr. and could be seen free of charge. His work can be seen at Disney World, Epcot, Universal Studios, Tokyo Disney, Six Flags, Dollywood, Carowinds NC, and in all of the other major theme parks around the world. Mr. Millican left Disney after working there from the time he was a teenager in the 1970's to help Michael Jackson, with whom he was friends, build Neverland Ranch. Mr. Millican has been featured on two episodes of HGTV's My Yard Goes Disney, one episode of Georgia Traveller, Fox 5 and 11 Alive among others. Sleepy Hollow had visitors from all over the world. Mr. Millican worked long hours six days a week to create custom birdhouses, playhouses, and fairy houses bringing happiness many.

Unfortunately, a highway widening project was approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation in 2012 which included acquiring the Millican's property. The Georgia DOT's appraisal for their 2.3 acres of land, their home, another small home, their workshops and gift shop was for $437,000. The Millicans requested another appraisal to correct a number of errors at which time the Georgia DOT threatened to begin condemnation proceedings. The Millicans were left with no choice but to settle for the offer on December 1, 2020. They were then given sixty days to vacate. The Millicans had hoped to find another location to rebuild Sleepy Hollow, but sadly were not able to do so with the compensation they received. This was truly the end of an era. What once brought joy to children and adults alike is now gone. The laughter of children is no longer heard. Families making memories can no longer come here. The once happy fairy houses in this small land of make believe that gave a brief respite from the rest of the world were empty with a feeling of sadness all around. There is now no sign this sweet little make-believe world ever existed. 🧚‍♀️😢

They planned to continue to sell these unique works of whimsical art online. However, the website is now gone. They have a Facebook page linked below, but there have been no postings since December 2024.
