"In 2021, the CDC spent nearly a quarter of a million dollars on solar-powered picnic tables. At the time, the CDC was telling people to socially distance, wear masks, and was essentially forcing many Americans to get vaccinated against their will. What possible use could CDC employees have had for those expensive new picnic tables?

Yes, it’s quite expensive. And the social distancing guidelines suggested they shouldn’t be sitting at those tables while they were spending that money. Look at those seats—they’re very close together. There's a lot of proximity between the seating.

Yes, quickly, I’m almost out of time. I want to briefly ask, for the general public: Is it appropriate for the CDC to spend $238,000 on solar-powered picnic tables? I think the American people find that disgusting. Is it appropriate for the SEC to spend $700,000 on the conference room of its New York regional office? I don’t think so. And what about the $6.5 million spent on luxury furniture to redecorate the EPA office? No. And the $284,000 on Herman Miller furniture for FEMA headquarters? Is that an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars? I would say no. I’ve definitely gone over my time, so thank you, gentlemen."
