In Our Hands (1950) This documentary tells about the American Free Enterprise system and threats to it from the government and is made up of 4 small films:

#1: How We Got What We Have presents the vital role of political freedom in the economic progress which comes from the accumulation of privately owned tools of production. Demonstrates the need for tools by showing a young couple with their infant child in a wilderness with nothing but natural resources and their hands.

#2: What We Have discusses the importance of economic freedom and how it relates to the production of goods, using the example of a steel pan and eggs. It highlights the various resources and labor involved in creating products, emphasizing that economic freedom allows individuals to work, invest, and make choices in the marketplace. The discussion includes the role of money as a medium of exchange and the necessity of savings for investment in tools and resources. Ultimately, it asserts that the economic and political freedoms in the United States contribute to a higher standard of living and should not be taken for granted.

#3 How To Lose What We Have discusses the drama of an authoritarian (probably Communist-type) coup in the U.S., assisted by apathy, an indifference to federal intervention in community affairs, and lack of economic incentive.

#4 How To Keep What We Have shows that natural resources, human energy, and tools are essential to economy and tells how government, freedom, and incentives affect the use of these essentials.
