Shapes are the forms of objects that we can see all around us.
They have different sizes, sides, and corners. Some shapes are flat (2D), like squares and circles, and some are solid (3D), like cubes and spheres.

Basic 2D Shapes:

Circle – round with no corners or edges. (e.g., clock, coin)

Square – 4 equal sides and 4 corners. (e.g., window)

Rectangle – 2 long sides and 2 short sides with 4 corners. (e.g., book)

Triangle – 3 sides and 3 corners. (e.g., road sign)

Oval – looks like a stretched-out circle. (e.g., egg)
