I pulled into the Plantation Shopping Center in Garden City. I go there often yet, until now, I've overlooked a real gem. I've discovered [for myself at least] a place named Nomad Rug Gallery®. It's right in between Uncle Giuseppe's and Great Clips. Yep, right in the middle stands Nomad Rug Gallery®.

The gallery is a local, family owned; Garden City business and the owners, Mehdi and Maryam have every reason to be proud of their little shop. I guess I was most impressed by their genuinely friendly welcome. These guys are the real deal.

Look at the huge variety of rugs, tapestries, jewellery, handbags, and hand made items. Artisans from Persia, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Xingjian Province of Western China, and Nepal. These are native artists and their skills and talents make one-of-a-kind items.

I grabbed a camera and there was just too much to cover in less than two minutes. Every time I want to show you things, there are even more to discover. Just look at these rugs on the floor and on the wall, every one a 'one-of-a-kind'.

Have you ever seen the very rare Painted Ostrich Eggs? These things are an investment treasure as all fine art is. You're not gonna find some Chinese or South American knock-offs here. I've never seen these, but one look at them tells me they're something very special to own, show, and keep as an investment. They are really nice! I can only imagine the talent, time, and serious effort they've put into each of these.

The selection of hand made jewellery from the orient and middle-east is extensive. Like the rugs and tapestries, there are no two pieces alike, everything is a 'one-off'. These things are really nice.

This shop is so much bigger when you get inside. From the outside you'd never guess just how much there is inside. There's a lot of stuff to see and buy, yet you don't feel crowded.

Some of the finest tapestries and rugs in the world are available right here in itty-bitty Garden City, Idaho. These things are treasures you can have, and remember that one of the best investments you can make is in original art.

Look at this, Mehdi is holding up a hundred-year-old camel saddle blanket. The thread count and fine knots are amazing, and attest to the phenomenal quality of this 'art-with-function'.
