Helicopter Pilot in Hudson River Crash Identified As Navy Seal Veteran

The pilot of the helicopter that crashed into New York City’s Hudson river- killing a family of five – has been identified as navy seal veteran Sean Johnson.

Just days before the crash Johnson – who had recently moved to New York city to advance his aviation career - posted a video of him flying On Social media

A former Seal Teams colleague described Johnson as “vibrant, humble, respectful, and hungry to learn." Saying Johnson always dreamed of becoming a pilot.

He also said Johnson was determined and had a heart that always looked out for others."

The Spanish family of five - including three children - who were killed on that helicopter tour have also been identified.

Agustín Escobar, the president of the Spanish branch of the technology company Siemens, his wife and three children were killed in the crash.

Photos showed the family posing on the helipad and inside the aircraft shortly before the crash.
6 people are confirmed to be deceased in the Hudson River crash.

Witnesses say that the chopper's propeller was detached from the helicopter, and spinning into the water, saying the chopper blade just "flew off."
"I don't know what happened to the tail, but it just straight-up dropped. It dropped feet away from Holland Tunnel, and I can't imagine if it hit it,"

The family was on vacation with their children taking a tour of Manhattan.
