We speak with human rights activist Miko Peled.

He is well-known as the author of The General’s Son, an autobiographical account of his family, including his father Matti Peled, who was a general in the Israeli army during the 1967 war and later met Yasser Arafat and urged negotiations with the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Miko Peled's most recent book is Injustice: The Story of the Holy Land Foundation Five. It describes the US government’s persecution and then the closure of what was America’s largest Muslim charity, The Holy Land Foundation, and the grave miscarriage of justice in the subsequent trials and convictions of five Palestinian Muslim-American community leaders.

We speak to Miko about the context and history preceding the Trump administration’s current crackdown on those critical of Israel.

This is a segment from The Electronic Intifada's livestream on day 552 of the Gaza genocide. Ali Abunimah, Nora Barrows-Friedman, Jon Elmer and Asa Winstanley were joined by human rights activist Miko Peled. You can watch the full show here: https://youtube.com/live/GGN7X6Z4O9I
