Biblical Audio Commentary – Multiplied

One of the mystery authors I’ve read over the years is Ruth Rendell from the UK. One of her protagonists is a Detective Chief Inspector in a small British village. He encounters difficult murder situations, interviews a variety of often very belligerent people in pursuit of the truth, and eventually solves the mystery. One aspect of Rendell’s writing that I’d seen in the past but which came to the fore for me in a recent book I read was her expression of contempt for religion, particularly Christianity, as spoken through her Chief Inspector character. She obviously had little use for, nor understanding, of the Christian faith, although I will say she does a good job describing a Christian-like cult in this novel.
