Mass Reading Reflection for Thursday, April 10, 2025

Fifth Week of Lent (Year B) are Genesis 17:3-9 (first reading), Psalm 105:4-9, and John 8:51-59 (Gospel)

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel rings with Thy eternity—‘Before Abraham was, I am,’ Thou proclaimest. Bishop Sheen exulted, ‘Thou, O Lord, art the timeless flame of love!’ Genesis unveils Thy covenant with Abraham, a promise kept by Thy unending fidelity. St. Charbel guides us to rest in Thy forever, as Gibran sighs, ‘The seed of now holds the tree of always.’ The Lord saith, ‘Whoever keeps My word shall never taste death’—His voice pierces time’s veil. This Lent, anchor your soul to one eternal truth—His mercy—and live in its light. Thy being, O Lord, weaves our days into Thy endless dawn.”
