The Revelation and Mission of Isa (AS)

Brothers, sisters, friends and elders, Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh.

We welcome you to the Islamic informative series episode No 21 on healing and events from the Holly Quran, in this video we will describe, The Revelation and Mission of Isa (AS)

The story of Isa (AS) in the Qur’an is one of the most profound and impactful narratives, demonstrating Allah’s mercy, guidance, and the miraculous powers bestowed upon the prophets. Isa (AS), known as Jesus in Christianity, was one of the five great prophets, selected by Allah to convey His message to the Children of Israel. His mission was to guide them to the worship of the One True God, to live righteous lives, and to turn away from corruption and idolatry. The divine revelation granted to Isa (AS) was not only a message of monotheism but also a call to justice, compassion, and a return to the true worship of Allah.

Isa (AS) was born to Maryam (AS) in a miraculous way, with no father. His birth itself was a sign from Allah, as He alone has the power to create life, and He chose Maryam to bear a child who would carry His message to the people. The Qur’an confirms that Isa (AS) was a prophet from an early age, receiving divine revelation to guide the Children of Israel. Allah speaks about this in Surah Al-Imran (3:49), where Isa (AS) was sent to his people with the Scripture (the Injil), and Allah made him a sign for all of mankind.

Quran said in Surah Al-Imran verse 49 “And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed, I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I design for you from clay [the form] of a bird, then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s permission. And I heal the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead by Allah’s permission.”**

This verse highlights the profound nature of Isa’s (AS) prophethood and his connection with Allah. His mission was to convey to the people that he was a servant of Allah, and he performed miracles not by his own power, but through Allah’s will. The miracles Isa (AS) performed were a testament to the authenticity of his prophethood and the divine support behind him.

The primary mission of Isa (AS) was to guide the Children of Israel, who had strayed from the true path of monotheism. The Israelites had been chosen by Allah as His people, but they had turned away from His guidance by engaging in idol worship and corrupt practices. Isa (AS) was sent to them to restore the message of pure monotheism, to remind them of the oneness of Allah, and to call them back to the worship of the One True God. He preached against the division and corruption that had entered into their faith and sought to reform their spiritual lives.

Isa (AS) called the Israelites to worship Allah alone, rejecting the idol worship that had permeated their society. His message was one of justice, compassion, and righteousness. He encouraged them to live righteous lives, to uphold justice, and to treat others with kindness and mercy. The Qur’an describes Isa (AS) as a prophet who was full of wisdom, who would provide guidance to his people, helping them to understand Allah’s commands and live in accordance with His will.

and quran said in Surah Al-Imran verse 59 **“Indeed, the example of Isa with Allah is like that of Adam. He created him from dust; then He said to him, ‘Be,’ and he was

The Qur’an draws a parallel between the creation of Isa (AS) and the creation of Adam (AS), emphasizing that both were created by Allah’s command. Isa (AS) did not have a father, just as Adam (AS) was created without a father or mother. This comparison reinforces the divine nature of Isa’s (AS) birth and the unique position he holds in Allah’s plan.

Isa (AS) was endowed with a series of remarkable miracles, which were clear signs of his prophethood and divine selection. These miracles were not only acts of divine mercy but also served to prove his authenticity as a messenger of Allah. Among the most notable miracles that Isa (AS) performed were the healing of the sick, including those who were blind and leprous, and even raising the dead. These miracles were signs that Isa (AS) was not acting on his own, but that he was a servant of Allah, empowered to perform these acts by His will.

One of the most striking miracles of Isa (AS) was the healing of the blind and the leprous. The Qur’an mentions this in Surah Al-Imran verse No. 49: **“And I heal the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead by Allah’s permission.”** These miracles not only demonstrated Isa’s (AS) divine connection but also his compassion for the suffering of others. Through these acts of healing, Isa (AS) showed that Allah had given him the power to alleviate suffering and to restore health.

Another miraculous act that Isa (AS) performed was the ability to give life to the dead. In Surah Al-Imran verse 49, Allah says, **“And I give life to the dead by Allah’s permission.”** This was a powerful testimony to the strength of Isa’s (AS) faith and the miraculous nature of his prophethood. The ability to bring someone back to life was a clear sign that Isa (AS) was sent by Allah to deliver His message and to demonstrate His authority over all things.

In addition to these miracles, Isa (AS) also performed another miracle where he created a bird from clay. The Qur’an mentions that Isa (AS) would fashion a bird from clay, breathe life into it, and it would become a real bird by Allah’s permission. This miracle further affirmed that Isa (AS) was a servant of Allah, and it showed that Allah had granted him the power to perform extraordinary acts as signs of His divine favor.

Isa (AS) was also given the Injil, the Gospel, which contained Allah’s guidance for the people. The Injil was a book of wisdom and a source of guidance, teaching people how to live righteous lives, worship Allah alone, and uphold justice. The Injil emphasized the importance of mercy, forgiveness, and humility, and it highlighted the need for faith in the One True God. Isa (AS) urged his followers to hold fast to the teachings of the Injil and to live according to its divine wisdom.

Despite the many miracles performed by Isa (AS) and his clear message of monotheism, he faced opposition and rejection from a significant portion of the Israelites. Some of the religious leaders, who saw Isa (AS) as a threat to their authority, rejected his message. They could not accept the idea of a prophet who came with a new understanding of Allah’s will, and they were resistant to the changes Isa (AS) preached. As a result, many of the Israelites turned away from him, choosing to maintain their old ways.

Isa (AS) was deeply disheartened by this rejection, but he remained resolute in his mission. He continued to preach the message of Allah, despite the opposition. His unwavering dedication to his mission is a testament to his strength of character and his deep faith in Allah.

As the opposition against Isa (AS) grew, the Qur’an narrates that the disbelievers plotted to kill him. They attempted to crucify him, but Allah had a different plan. In Surah An-Nisa (4:157), it is stated, **“And [the disbelievers] said, ‘Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Isa, the son of Maryam, the messenger of Allah.’ But they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself.”**

This verse confirms that Isa (AS) was not crucified, but instead, Allah raised him up to Himself, saving him from the attempts on his life. Isa (AS) remains alive in the presence of Allah, awaiting his return to earth. His return is a sign of the end times, where he will restore justice, break the cross, kill the swine, and unite people in the worship of the One True God.

The revelation to Isa (AS) and his mission were monumental events in history, and his life is a powerful example of faith, dedication, and the miraculous power of Allah. Isa (AS) was a messenger of mercy, bringing guidance to a people in need of reform, and his miracles served as signs of Allah’s omnipotence. His message of monotheism, justice, and mercy continues to resonate today, and his life remains a source of inspiration for millions of people around the world. Through Isa (AS), we learn the importance of unwavering faith, compassion for others, and the recognition of Allah’s infinite power and wisdom.

With this, we seek your permission until tomorrow and pray to Allah Almighty to grant us the ability to follow the injunctions of the Quran and the Prophetic Hadith, Amen

Allah Hafiz.
