The thing I hate most about the desert

In Quartzsite desert locations as most of the desert areas I have seen out West within Nevada and Arizona, there is one thing I dont like at all and that is the dreaded small weeds with little barbs that magically appear between your skin and your shoe. You probably would have an extremely hard time going barefoot there for very long. And then there is the scorpions.....
In all honesty, I have walked hundreds of miles in the desert during the months of Jan April and May and have never seen anything scary aside from maybe a couple rotten rows of teeth and a human behind that speaks a form of English I do not recognize. Perhaps the imaginary sounds of banjo's playing was overstimulating my reasoning abilities I recon.
