Sean Duffy said they are bringing back painting of Jesus on the Water

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, a Catholic, called for the restoration of Christ on the Water, a painting depicting Jesus with outstretched arms over a lifeboat of sailors, at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. His statement was met with enthusiastic applause from midshipmen. The painting had been removed in 2023 under the Biden Administration following complaints from an atheist organization, which argued that its display in a mandatory-use room was inappropriate.
