US President Donald Trump planted a new sapling of a magnolia tree, which is a direct descendant of the Jackson Magnolia, in the grounds of the White House. This symbolic action is part of Trump's attempt to emphasize the connection with the historical traditions of America.

The original magnolia tree was planted about 200 years ago by Andrew Jackson, the 7th president of the United States, in the south compound of the White House, and since then it has become one of the historical symbols of this place.

Earlier on Sunday, April 10, Trump published a message on the social network Truth Social and announced that the main tree should be cut down due to its poor condition and the possibility of creating a danger in the entrance area of the White House.

He wrote in his message that this tree is in a very bad condition and is dangerous for the entrance of the White House.

A new tree named MAGAnolia has now been planted on the grounds of the White House as a symbol of the continuity of this historic legacy, and part of the wood of the original tree is to be used for valuable cultural or memorial purposes.
