Metall Korsett - Anger

Anger flies like a moth
Across the room in my house
And it rots my thoughts
Makes a place for itself in the walls
It takes my eyes and my tongue
Claws at everyone I love
And no matter how I try
It sees the world through my eyes

And it hurts
And it bleeds
And curses every
Good and holy thing I need
And no one knows
The burden that I carry
If they knew
Then they’d become my enemy

And it turns
For its pound of flesh
Misinterpret every word
Like some damning test
And if I try to reconcile
Anything I hear is a no
Every line is a smile
Every chance is a no

And it hurts
And it bleeds
And curses every
Good and holy thing I need
And no one knows
The burden that I carry
If they knew
Then they’d become my enemy

And the river’s red as roses
On the summer side of the Great Divide
I am the captain of this realm
Different worlds that only I can help
And no one knows what I’ve done
Dams I’ve built to control the flood
Nobody sees the world through my eyes
When anger takes the rust

And it hurts
And it bleeds
And curses every
Good and holy thing I need
And no one knows
The burden that I carry
If they knew
Then they’d become my enemy
