William Zepeda-Shakur Stevenson Purse Bid Drama Heats Up

In a recent development, the WBC has mandated Shakur Stevenson to fight William Zepeda next. Last week, Shakur revealed his disdain for Turki Alalshikh for reneging on a fight price Shakur says he was promised.

Again, this is Shakur Stevenson's side of the story, and as you know, there are always 2 sides to a story. Now that Shakur has been mandated to fight Zepeda, both sides have 30 days to make a deal.

If not, the fight will go to a purse bid. William Zepeda is with Oscar Dela Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, and Shakur Stevenson is with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Promotions.

I'm anxious to see if either guy, meaning Eddie and Oscar, will be willing to break the bank to make this fight. Shakur said Turki tried to lowball him for Zepeda.

I'm anxious to see if Eddie Hearn is going to overpay him the money Shakur said Turki Alalshikh originally offered him? If not, will he keep that same energy with Eddie Hearn? I doubt it.

Since William Zepeda and Shakur Stevenson have both bent the knee to their bosses. Will their bosses pay them more money than Turki Alashikh? Turki Alalhikh isn't involved now.

I better hear Shakur being offered big money to fight Zepeda. If this fight goes to a purse bid, this would be bad news for both fighters. Why? Because it opens up the door for an outsider to win the purse bid for the low.

I don't believe Oscar, nor Eddie Hearn will pay Shakur & Zepeda the type of money they want. Zepeda is a protected Golden Boy fighter, and Shakur Stevenson isn't a draw.

If someone is foolish enough to pay big money on this fight, it would be a financial bloodbath, and everybody knows it. Over the past few days, I've come to realize the promotional companies, sanctioning bodies, managers, and promoters all play a part in fighters avoiding fights.

The fighter is the one who gets the blame when their bosses make them avoid certain fighters, better known as ducking.

The question I have is this. Will Oscar Dela Hoya allow William Zepeda to fight Shakur? Or will he make Zepeda duck him?

In other news, rumors have surfaced via Angela Yee that Floyd Mayweather lied about purchasing 62 Apartment Buildings In New York. In a PR stunt gone wrong, Floyd told the world on camera that he was far from broke, and he's living his best life. https://youtube.com/live/2uX3BeIDtFU

However, that was the furthest thing from the truth. The reporter states that Floyd claimed he bought 6 apartment buildings. But 1 month ago, Floyd said he bought 62 apartment buildings. Somebody is lying.
