Jesus raised Lazarus to prove that He speaks with the full power and approval of God the Father. His prayer wasn't for help—it was to show the people that He and the Father are one. The Father amens everything Jesus does because Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life Himself. No prophet or man ever claimed that. Jesus didn’t ask for permission—He gave life by His own power.

When Jesus said He is Lord of the Sabbath, He meant He has authority even over God’s law. No man, no prophet, no angel can say that. Only God can. This proves Jesus wasn’t just a man—He was God in the flesh. That’s why the high priest tore his clothes. It wasn’t because Jesus claimed to be the Messiah—many did that and weren’t killed. Jesus was condemned for blasphemy because He claimed to be Yahweh Himself—the Son of Man from Daniel 7 who comes on the clouds and is worshipped by all nations.

No human can say, “I do what God does, the way He does it.” But Jesus said that. Why? Because He’s not a creature—He’s the Author of Life, one with the Father and the Spirit in full power and glory.

Bible Verses

John 11:25-26 – Jesus says “I am the resurrection and the life.” - Jesus promises eternal life to those who believe in Him.

Mark 2:28 – “So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” - Jesus claims divine authority over God’s own law.

John 5:19 – “Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” - Jesus shares the exact power of God.
