Relentless spring storms pounding the US South and Midwest since 25 March have triggered deadly floods, leaving at least seven dead and submerging entire towns across Kentucky and Ohio. Dawson Springs, Shepherdsville, and parts of Cincinnati are among the worst hit, with rivers overflowing and roads like Highway 62 completely underwater. Aerial and drone footage reveal widespread devastation, prompting mass evacuations and emergency response efforts. Officials, including Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, have urged residents to “brace for more floods,” as rising water levels continue to disrupt life from Texas to Illinois. Climate change is believed to be intensifying the scale and frequency of such extreme weather events.
